Morocco Itinerary : 2 days morocco desert tour from marrakech to zagora
Day 1: Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Agdez → Zagora
Your 2-day desert tour to Zagora from marrakech we will start early in the morning either from your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech. We will drive through the Tizi N-Tichka pass (2,260 meters above sea level) and pass by several charming Berber villages. Along the way we will stop at a few spots to take in the stunning panoramic views.
Our first stop it will be the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah a UNESCO World Heritage site. This famous kasbah has been used as a backdrop for Hollywood movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia as well as TV series such as Game of Thrones and etc… After a short visit you’ll have lunch either in Ait Ben Haddou or further ahead in Ouarzazate.
After lunch we will continue driving through the Anti-Atlas Mountains passing through traditional Berber villages and the beautiful Draa Valley. The Draa Valley is known for its endless palm groves and is home to the longest river in Morocco. By the afternoon we reach Zagora. Here You will ride the camel through the desert and see a sunset over the sand dunes. Afterward you’ll continue to the desert camp where a delicious Moroccan dinner awaits you. End the evening under the open sky surrounded by the sounds of traditional drum berber music and the magic of the shining stars.
Day 2: Zagora to Marrakech.
After an early morning camel ride over the dunes to witness the stunning dawn, enjoy a hearty Moroccan meal. We go for Ouarzazate, “The Gate of the Desert”. We will visit the Taourirt Kasbah as well as the studios where great films have been shot. Then we will make our way back to Marrakech via Tizi Ntichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains.
Finally of your 2-day Zagora desert tour will conclude with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport in Marrakech.
