Day 1: Fes to Ifrane to Ziz Valley to Erfoud then to Merzouga
In the first day of your 2 days desert tour from fes to merzouga, Depart from Fes around 06:00 and go to Merzouga. The first destinationwill be Ifrane, Morocco’s Little Switzerland. After a cup of coffee, you can see Barbary apes in Azrou’s cedar forest. From here, we’ll drive over the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt (also known as Morocco’s capital apple), where you can have lunch.
We continue on through the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass (also known as the she-camel pass) to the Ziz Valley (a lush oasis with palm trees and small traditional communities). You will several stops for along the way. Arrive at Merzouga in the afternoon. Your camels and guide will be waiting to transport you across the Erg Chebbi Dunes to your desert tent. Watch amazimg sunset from a high dunes. After a great dinner, the personnel of the camp will light the fire, so you can have a sit around a campfire while enjoying some Berber music under a starlit sky.
